Start with your current qualification
Choosing a pharmacy programme begins with understanding your starting point. Your current qualification, the subjects you have studied and the kind of learning you want to pursue all matter. A course name or duration alone does not tell you everything about the route.
D.Pharm introduces pharmaceutical science and pharmacy practice, while B.Pharm offers a broader degree-level study of medicines. Lateral entry provides a route for eligible diploma holders to continue towards a degree. Confirm the current entry requirements for your chosen programme before applying.

Look beyond the programme title
Read the subject outline and consider how theoretical study connects with practical work. Chemistry, human biology, calculations and careful communication each have a role in pharmacy education. Think about the areas you enjoy and where you may need to strengthen your foundation.
Ask how assessments, practical requirements and professional steps fit into the programme. Admission to a course and eligibility for professional registration are separate questions, so check the applicable requirements with the college and relevant authorities.
